Happy Birthday to Gujarat on its 49th birthday 5/1/1960 was its birthdate.

Today is birthday of Gujarat also my birth place, so on that occasion I would like to wish happy birthday to gujarat on its 49th birthday.Earlier gujarat was ruled by britishers during  1818 to 1847   and was under bombay presidency  and then further after indenpendence also it remained with same name ,but on 1st may 1960 bombay presidency splitted into two states maharashtra (marathi speaking community) and Gujarat (gujarati speaking community ) on the basis of language and thus the existence of gujarat started.

Gujarat has always been the most prominent part of India's economy since the beginning and it continues till date.It is also the sole highest state paying state share in the central revenue since long.

Other Highlights of gujarat:

It has longest sea coast of 1670 kms.

It has 80% of indian salt production

It has 40% of India's pharmaceutical products

It has 67% of India's petrochemical production.

It has world's largest ship breaking yard at alang near bhavnagar in gujarat

Gujarat ranks first nationwide in gas-based thermal electricity generation with national market share of over 8% and second nationwide in nuclear electricity generation with national market share of over 1%.

Inspite of passing through all sorts of natural and men induced calamities like earth quake on 26 january 2001 ,terrorist attack on asia largest hospital civil hospital in  26 july 2008  ,gujarat viloence in 2002,terrorist attack on akshardham temple gujarat has never stopped progressing 

forgettng all those evils .

Gujarat was ruled by congress since indenpedence till 1995 and then it was defeated by BJP and keshubhai became the first non-congress cheif minister in gujarat and his government lasted for 2 yrs only following dispute with bjp personel Shankarsingh Vaghela and then government of gujarat was lead by  Narendra Modi

and he became cheif minister for 3 consecutive times and is still cheif minister of Gujarat as on today.

Gujarat has total 26 districts comprising of  Ahmedabad (Earlier known as manchestor of india),Gandhinagar,Surat ( Diamond city),Rajkot,Vadodara as the main districts.

Valsad is famous for its alphonso mangoes all over the world and its products are exported to all over the world.

Lion of gir natural santuary is also famous all over the world and has largest number of lions in the world.

There are many other sightseesing places and historical places located in gujarat .Thus gujarat is a combination of both cultural and economical heritage.If I write about gujarat pages and pages would be filled out and then also something will remain so to end up in short  I would end by this"My salute to gujarat on it's 49th birthday."
