were sentenced to 12 years in a labor prison.
The journalists, Euna Lee and Laura Ling, who worked for
Current TV, were arrested in March while working on a story
near the border between North Korea and China.

It shows that North korea is very strict in implementing it's legal measures for protection of security of it's country and so has taken so harsh steps against the concerned reporters .This could be a lesson for others also to seek proper permission from the concerned department for such type of investations and not to start by themselves .
